Thinking of doing UK and Ireland solo?
Here’s exactly how I moved through it for 45 days.
I didn’t need a map. Just momentum. This is what six weeks of movement looks like.
Not your typical checklist trip. This was my way of rewiring. I go with the flow and that’s what happened with this trip as well.

Cost Snapshot

- Ireland and Scotland were more budget friendly than London
If you want to know how much it would cost to travel around the UK and Ireland following a similar itinerary, here’s a calculator you can use to estimate it. Just enter the number of days and hit “Estimate.”
Best and Worst
- Best moment Cliff edge winds at the Cliffs of Moher. Quiet, raw, everything I needed
- Worst moment Ryanair check-in chaos at Stansted. Extra $50! because I didn't check in online. Also millennial Indians on my tour bus - millennial women are literally the weirdest out there.
Would I Do It Again
Yes. But slower. Fewer cities. More depth. And probably rent a car in Scotland. This one took a toll on my body, even though I'm a young and relatively fit guy.
Markers That Mattered
- Total time 45 days
- Countries 4
- Major tours 10 confirmed
- Transport Flights, buses, legs (mostly legs)
- Lodging Airbnb, hotel, friends’ flat
No itinerary apps. No tourist checklist. Just moved how I felt. If you're gonna go, go like you mean it.
